Gets amazing reviews on IMDB, and, I actually remember this as a little kid.
The ending literally made me shit myself.
A must watch.
This is crying out for a big budget fuck up remake…..

Link would have helped…..
i think that part of the thing that makes it so compelling is how low key most of it is until the very end. it’s almost like a fairy tale, with all the standard archetypes having a go until it’s finally spirited away by “Professionals” :p i don’t think a big budget remake would help in any way, really. also, i don’t see how it could be stretched out to a full feature film, as the length is perfect as it is. plus, the fact that the booth is sound proof (which IS part of the problem with the situation) means that people couldn’t really converse with the person inside, and it’s a good thing as it maintains the divide between the character and everyone else. BUT this would also be a problem in a feature length film, with the character being unable to communicate as soon as he/she or “they”, as would be more likely in a modern film, get into the booth.
Fucking hell, remind me never to use a phone booth in Spain next time I visit.
Chilling stuff George, although I did get an inking of where this was going before the end. Was the point of the film not really about a man trapped in a booth – but instead a social commentary that in general people would find the misfortune of others entertaining, and wouldn’t offer to help or consider that there may be something sinister underlying? There are arguably parallels with the awful reality tv people watch nowadays – the concept of people being watched / exposed constantly with their misery essentially being the entertainment for others. Anyway thanks for uploading and for keeping the site content diverse and surprising!
yes mate i think you are right, that’s always what i’ve taken from it. what’s entertainment for the group can be horror for the individual. no problem mate i am glad you enjoyed it !
But why George? Surely there are less convoluted ways. The chap looked like a Spanish Richard from Keeping Up Appearances 🤔
why what mate? :p
Why did they do that to him? He seemed a decent guy, just like poor Richard.
just because !
