Assault Suit Leynos on the JAP Mega Drive remains the toughest game in the mecha genre. People bitched and moaned about the alleged difficulty of Probotector on the NES. Leynos was so hard even World of Longplays resorted to in-game cheating and glitches to complete it.
Cheers George – I have an old laptop that’s not much use and I’ve never been part of the pc master race sadly 😊 I’d therefore be getting this for Xbox series x or ps5 so will wait for the price to go down I think. Saying that my hyperspin arcade cab innards are a gaming pc (gtx1650 – whatever that is) but it just boots up to hyperspin and I’d have no idea how to access it and mess about lol. Never needed to as it’s set up with a 3tb of retro goodness 😉👌

Hi George, that looks like splendid fun…may I enquire what keysite you got such a splendid deal from?
Oh yeah, the other day I was watching your ‘Octopus’ Game & Watch video and you mentioned that you were going to get round to doing my ‘Scuba Dive’ video….you haven’t done a Zeee Exxx Spectrum (as they’d say in America) for ages…
i’ve started that video loads of times mate ! i will definitely get around to it soon ! yes i got the key from site-games which offers accounts not keys i suppose to be technically accurate and you can’t play the games online BUT this game only has VS Arena stuff online which’ll be meta ruled nonsense as is always the case with fromsoft pvp. there’s no ingame co-op so i’m not bothered about missing out on the online arenas. they’re a decent site i got spiderman miles morales and resident evil IV remake from them too and i think i paid 5.49 or something for both of those games together !
Never played any of this series – looking forward to you uploading more of this game George. The nearest I’ve played in the genre I think is probably Zone of Enders on the ps2 (bought because it had the free MGS2 demo maybe?), which was okay but wasn’t as action packed as this! Your take on this game is interesting aswell – Metro have recently reviewed it 9/10 and said it’s great as it shares many systems and efforts required of the player as dark souls etc, where as you didn’t seem to find it as similar to the soulsborne games. It looks great nonetheless – I’m just interested in the barrier of entry if you’re not that great at games anymore like me, and have never played the other armoured cores 👍
i would say it is a bit tougher than the older games but it peaks and troughs dramatically. most of the time it’s NOT as challenging as a souls game but occasionally you’ll come up against something a lot tougher. I would say that the barrier for entry IS a bit high as on the first level there’s a boss which, like Iudex Gundyr from Dark Souls 3, might trouble newcomers substantially (even though it’s not that tough but, still). i got it for 6.99 from site-games so maybe you can check there if your pc is okay to run it, as 60 pounds is a lot to pay for a game you might not be sure about ! i think a lot of the magazines and youtubers are likening it to dark souls because it sells mags/gets clicks and they’ve probably not played the series before. all the tenets, more or less, of armored core are present and correct. if anything we could argue that dark souls takes some keynotes from armored core, just as it did from kings field. the repair system owes a chunk to estus as that wasn’t a thing really in the older games but i really don’t think there are as many similarities as there are differences.

Silly question George, but what’s the best way to help your channel. Watch on here or on Rumble?
i’m not sure mate, i think here is fine but maybe watch on both if you choose to double dip ! (but here first)
