It’s pretty awesome mate. Just a load of different vehicles playing silly buggers. If you had to pick any game in the franchise – I’d highly recommend Pacific Rift. It’s the best of the main trilogy. The first game was an early PS3 title and is kinda lacking in content (still more than early Ridge Racer haha) and consists entirely of desert valleys and canyons. Pacific Rift offers more variety in the environments and more content in general. Apocalypse introduced a mechanic where the levels would undergo major changes throughout the race thanks to hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes and stuff. There was even an isometric spinoff called MotorStorm RC for Vita where you played as little RC cars, kinda reminds me of the old Micro Machine games on Mega Drive. Lastly, there was Arctic Edge which was a bit more return to form – but made for PSP and also got a PS2 release. Hope you end up checking em out. I think it’s up your alley.
i’m not massively into racing games but will give it a go mate ! there’s something about the ridge racer series that goes above and beyond traditional racing for me i think it’s the environments and the general vibe of it. there’s an x factor to it that’s not present in other games, but i’m always willing to try out something new ! to go back to the x factor situation, for example, i would (on paper) not go at all for a game like r:racing BUT for some reason there’s something in the DNA that appeals to me, whereas other “dry” track racer games are things i’ve no interest in at all. can’t explain it !
tried it out mate but not really a fan, as i said i’m not really into racers and the multiple routes/all over the place nature of motorstorm sort of annoyed me. also as has been mentioned here the rubber banding is really, really bad. i would be way out in front in a fast vehicle and all of a sudden the vehicles that were dots on the road behind me are flung out far in front and go flying past me at a crazy speed before dropping back again. it seems strange and although it’s clearly about learning the courses i found it a bit scrappy. the thing i like about ridge racer is that you can absolutely guarantee it’s going to behave in a certain way, not unlike the old wipeout games. something like motorstorm isn’t a game i feel i could “zone” properly but maybe that would come with time. however, with limited time left it’s not time i’m prepared to invest right now ! thanks for the recommendation though keep them coming i am always up for checking out different games it just so happens that this one was not for me.
the thing with ridge racer, though, even the early ones, is that despite lacking in content the content that is there is laser focused and extremely well put together. for example the first game features a track i’ll never tire of. i find that throughout the series the track design is of a very high standard and they’re all really good fun. there are many racing games with many more tracks but as i’ve said i’m not a fan of racing games in general there’s just something special about ridge racer. probably it’s in part down to the fact that it’s not really a racing game, it’s more like a flying game. it bears zero resemblance to actual car performance or how one would drive in the real world. probably this is the same reason i really love the initial d games and it’s also interesting that both games are based on the japanese mountain racing hobby. i would love to live in japan in a rural area it seems like a really clean and beautiful place but it will not be happening in this lifetime that’s for sure so in the meantime i can just play these two games and pretend i wouldn’t die on the first corner if i could drive and did this in real life :p
Motorstorm has the worst rubber-banding of all games. You can be perfecting your speed, boosting at the right moment, then all of a sudden the pack will catch up and leave you for dust without even using their boosts.
it might be a great racer mate but as i said i don’t usually get on with racing games. really i only like mario kart (and only the very first game), f-zero games, wipeout games (but not all) and of course ridge racer. there’s a thread running through all those titles of “completely unrealistic and not like driving a car” so as soon as i run into something that’s a bit more real i tend to not be into it, although i am intending to play through r:racing at some point as i like the aesthetics of that game !
that’s true mate. it’s a problem with some games. sometimes, during the course of the game, your ingame character will be asked for around £470 or the equivalent ingame currency value thereof, and you just don’t have it. you then have to accept it from a right wing, boorish americunt before continuing to mine the bonus level over and over for yet more coins. you profit a lot at the end of it but, ultimately, you’re in BITS 🙁
i love the way she said it, it was so fucking pathetic and basically put his “rep” (which was already non existent, as anyone over 9 hates his fucking guts) right in the toilet for all eternity. Even if he drinks flagons of superglue and has someone mummify him in duct tape so that he’s DEFINITELY one single entity he will still be in BITS !
what’s she thinking of, though, really ? she’s a fucking pig, she even makes pig noises and scrabbles about with her trotters in videos ! a thirty something, thick as pigshit, grifting, lying lardass that looks 50 ! she looks like grotbags or george fisher from cannibal corpse and, no matter what her orbular couch locked simps say about it, that’s just a bad look to have when you’re trying to cavort around in supposedly alluring outfits. It’s like someone’s failed to squeeze a human shit into a nicely bejewelled thimble. she’s a mess and a horror both inside and out !
yes mate definitely i miss games like this there are not so many of these “zone it” sort of games nowadays or if there are i missed them. mostly they are indie games, i suppose, but the majority of AAA stuff is just having your hand held through a “game” that’s made by someone who wishes they could make a film :-/

Evening George, the young lady you’re referring to is Emily Booth (aka Bouff).
Having checked up to see what she’s up to now, it is disappointing to discover that she appears to lead a wholesome life.
I’d hoped that she was forced to do middle-aged rudeness on Onlyfans but, alas, it is not to be.
I’d hoped that she’d perhaps been so hard up that she’d been forced to get pounded to BITS by Harvey Price.
She did a livestream with the Critical Drinker a few months ago. The only other thing I’ve seen her in is a low budget horror called Inbred which is a good laugh, but not one to watch with easy offended friends.
You’ve been playing a fair bit on PS3 of late huh? What are your thoughts on the Motorstorm games? I think you’d dig em, personally.
they’re okay, i had one on 360 that i quite liked !
You may be thinking of another series, Motorstorm is a PlayStation exclusive franchise.
yes mate i was thinking of “Pure”, i’ll have a look at motorstorm !

Fair do’s mate! Glad you are least gave it a shot. Can’t say fairer than that!

A classic game, used to spend hours on it. Shame everyone was in bits after playing

I was fine up until the chun li bit and then my lunch flew from my mouth as my giggling turned to guffaws 🙂
The bits bits always crack me up.

Haven’t played this in ages – good game to get in the zone with. Nex Machina by these developers is amazing aswell 😊👌

“yeah babe” :-z

she’s in that film with the guy from cradle of filth i can’t remember what it was called it’s genuinely atrocious.
I’ll avoid anything with that band in. Even the name annoys me lol.
yes mate it was terrible, absolutely terrible
