The 4k 60fps patches look great mate, and it runs incredibly well on RPCS3, very impressive. I’m a huge FromSoft Soulsborne fan myself (I believe we’ve had discussions before), and I agree that the vast open world of Elden Ring lost some of what is so good about the FromSoft games that came before it. Demon’s Souls is a great game on the PS3, if a little easy compared to some of the other From games, but it’s well worth a play through. I haven’t played the remake, but as you say it pretty much a reskin with the code base left in tact.
The screen grabs of the people complaining made me laugh! The things they were moaning about are exactly the challenges that you’re meant to overcome, to persevere with, and when you do finally overcome them the feeling of reward is like no other games in my opinion. Great video mate, really enjoyed it. PS – you’re right, only Demon’s Souls, DS1 and DS2 have non boss fight fog gates. They changed it after that, and DS3, Bloodborne and Elden Ring fog gates all have bosses behind them.
exactly mate quite right i don’t know what these people expect and to be honest the first level of bloodborne i think is more problematic in terms of how long it takes to get to your first lantern for new players. demon’s souls as you say is NOT particularly tough i don’t like the phrase but these people really need to GIT GUD ! (i spelled it GET in the video as i’m not sure people would understand if not familiar with series terminology and might have thought i’d gone mental and had somehow gotten github involved). there are loads of people complaining online but that struck me as one of the best ones. also people moaning about “the mechanics” saying things like “this is terrible compared to elden ring, which is so much smoother and better to play” well that’s subjective BUT elden ring is from 2022 not 2010 of course it’s not going to have the same features. if only FROM had a time machine and could go back and correct the awful wrongs they’ve wrought upon us all :p i would really like to be able to make a demon’s souls remake comparison but i don’t think that’s likely as i am pretty sure i will never have a ps5 but as mentioned in this video the more i see of the reskin the less i feel it’s adhered to the original design tenets which is a shame. there’s no arguing that the graphics are very impressive and are perhaps still the best on the ps5 but they have changed the heart of the game and i don’t think they should have done that. i might make some more demon’s souls videos mate but i don’t like to spoil things for people but i could always begin them with a spoiler warning ! thanks for watching mate !
Great video George and I enjoyed listening to your take on the soulsborne games. I love them all but must admit I’m shit at them! Maybe that’s why Elden Ring is my favourite – you can go in another direction and explore somewhere else if you hit a difficulty spike, and it’s the only one I’ve managed to finish (At character level 220). Love them all though, and think Bloodborne in particular is fantastic. Hope you do more videos on the series 😊👍

I believe the phone is android 13 and not sure about the tablet but it probably 2 years old and they are not exactly forthcoming with updates.

I’m having trouble with some of the videos for some odd reason. On various devices they either play with sound only or the video and sound play for a few mins then the screen freezes and i am left with just audio. Is this a known issue? PC seems to be ok tho
what device are you using, something apple or android ? not currently a known issue but we could narrow things down if you can tell us your device/os. you could also sub to BUMFLIX where you can download them all anyway, that’s what that was set up for as try as they might some people just have issues with the videos. u4ria had to switch to linux, now everything plays perfectly. on his windows he couldn’t play anything, it’s very strange. currently i’m having no problem playing from here or from a faraway vpn and i usually get the problems others do. as i said mate let us know what you’re using and we can look into it !
Amazon fire tablet and android phone is causing me issues. Probably an android issue but it’s odd how some videos play all the way through without issue.
are the new ones playing okay ? there was an issue with a way quite a few of the older videos were transcoded that’s been fixed going forward, that might be the issue. if you tell me which ones they are i’ll see if i can reproduce the issue here.
This video and the time crisis ones and most the others. I wouldn’t worry about it mate, if nobody else has issues then it’s clearly an issue my end. I just wanted to know if it was affecting others and to bring it to your attention if it was 👍
