I wonder if this was the inspiration for the MoverSim game from the recent Revision 2023 Demoparty Game Dev competition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHhNp57tZXE (at 8:23)
A 1st person Unreal engine take on helping somebody move INTO a house, rather than out of.
I’ve played this with my girlfriend and also my daughter. It’s definitely a 2 player game as it feels a bit soulless by yourself. Of course arguements ensue when you can’t agree which way to drag stuff, and later on you have to throw furniture across ridiculous barricades etc, all whilst up against the clock. A game where you go around smashing stuff up you might like is Teardown on Steam, however, I found ultimately the levels are just “escape puzzles” with stress inducing time limits and the fun factor wore off rapidly.
yes i like teardown but dislike the actual “game” for the same reasons you list. i also wish the buildings had gravity, as they don’t and it’d be amazing if they did. (maybe they do now, i haven’t played it in ages !)
actually i just played it and it’s “sort of” changed a bit, i think, although the buildings still can be held up entirely by one brick or suchlike. i last played it in very early stages. it seems (slightly) better optimised now too. video rendering as i type :p
