The last attention grabbing business announcement i heard, was Jane Whittaker all over Twitter hyping up Athena Worlds..

Name dropping big names involved like Nolan Bushnell..

Mass talk of cross-platform game development yet no specific titles announced.

The last I heard of that, they’d still not announced a single title on a single platform.

Whittaker had appeared online Ebegging as company had run out of money.

He himself lost a court case for being a lying scumbag, taking credit for the work of others.

This has a similar stench to it.

There is no sound business model being presented, the funds being asked for, won’t sustain such a project for more than a few weeks, if that and then what? another campaign asking for funding to keep it running and then another and another?

If banks and investors won’t touch it, KS won’t save it.

We are supposed to believe these UK YT people are content creators, authors, entertainers and now small businesses entrepreneurs.

How are they going to divide their time?

Will this be their focus?

Will they continue with YT?

Or are they already working on even more concepts which will require KS funding?

Mate, you’ve spoken sense in the past, but these latest rants about a bar opening in a city you have no knowledge of seems pretty unhinged. You talk about operating a business, while not having operated one, suggesting they purchase a next-door building and knock a wall through is lunacy. Maybe in the 80s, but good luck with that in this day and age.

Just leave the nerds to open their new business, it seems absurd how much you would dedicate to what is essentially a small business trying to gather the funds to improve their opening offerings. The money they’re getting from KS is easily a drop in the pond compared to what they would need to open the fucking thing, and you even evidenced that they’ve been working on it for over a year.

Lost a lot of respect for you over this one mate. You’ve just outright insulted people involved without knowing them, you’ve told them how to do something you have no experience in, and offered advice that fails to apply. You sound like a lunatic, which while you are mad most of the time, you just come across as a cunt.

Opening a business is a very simple concept; you need to make more money than you spend to a level that means your life isn’t unbearably difficult.

You either start it with your own savings, or you borrow from a 3rd party based on a business case which demonstrates a low level of risk of it not being paid back.

You don’t need to have x years experience of running a business in Norfolk to understand basic profit and loss fundamentals and risk liabilities.

Do they have savings to do it on their own? No

Did they successfully convince a bank / investor that opening a Barcade in a low footfall part of town, during a cost of living crisis where energy prices are going up and pubs are closing at a eye watering rate each week…. Errr no!

Did they instead draw upon their YouTube fan base to raise capital which requires no scrutiny and no requirement to pay it back other than through KS rewards, and therefore if it goes down the pan no one has to pay it back…. Yes, that’s the plan.

I have a GCSE in Art and have been to Norwich once, so I’m probably also not qualified to understand basic logic.

They are using the wrong platform to ask for money. Kickstarter should be used to a sell an end product, a game, trinket or whatever shit is on there. They are BEGGING for money to open a business, the crowd funders are receiving nothing of worth in return!

In the unlikely event it is a successfull business, the owners will be quids in. The crowd funders will have a handfull of tokens, merch, 10% off meals and wait for it…. their name in the hall of fame wooooohhh! All of it is shit!

The really should have offered a percentage ownership in the business but nooooooooo they are entitled GRIFTING BASTARDS, manipulating their audience for their Ill-gotten gains!

Im sick to death of internet beggers, if you want to do something do it and dont ask people to fund you ffs!! I want to retire early but i don’t go on the internet asking people to fund it!! (Btw if anybody does actually want to fund it feel free). This is no better than when Metal Jesus was asking people to fund a road trip with his mate who is not short of money from what i seen.
